WEBSITE JARGON-BUSTER HELPS IN FINANCE MAZE
People looking for a little help in understanding jargon used in the financial services industry need now look no further than the new-look website launched by Hinckley and Rugby Building Society.
The building society launched its website, www.hrbs.co.uk, eight years ago but it has just been completely revamped and offers a range of new features including a jargon buster.
“People working in banks and building societies have a tendency to use phrases such as AER, which stands for Annual Equivalent Rate, and BACS, Banks Automated Clearing System, without realising that many customers have little understanding of what they mean,” explains Chris White, Chief Executive of Hinckley and Rugby.
“We decided that it would be helpful if when re-designing our new website we provided a full breakdown of all the words and phrases used regularly in the financial world.
“We have also introduced a number of other new features to the site so that people can get as much information as possible about Hinckley and Rugby and find details of its range of mortgage and investment products quicker and easier than before.”
The website features details of investment accounts and mortgages, a news section, frequently asked questions, locations of the Society’s 11 branches and enquiry forms for people wanting more information about products.
The new website has been developed and designed for Hinckley and Rugby by G-Forces Web Management Ltd, an international web management company based in Bearsted, Kent.
The Hinckley and Rugby is a top 30 building society and has assets of £700 million. It has more than 80,000 investors and more than 9,000 borrowers.
