BECKY JOINS THE RACE FOR LIFE
Taking part in the Cancer Research Race For Life last week, Hinckley and Rugby Building Society’s Becky Jackson completed the 5 km at Coombe Abbey in a very respectable 35 minutes.
Jogging and walking around the slippery course with her cousin Lara Chamberlain, aged 21, a somewhat soggy Becky, 22, Customer Assistant at the Society’s Nuneaton branch, managed to complete the run without suffering any blisters.
The pair, who both live in Nuneaton, had great fun taking part and were quite impressed with their time, despite not having done any serious training prior to the event.
Raising £130 for Cancer Research UK and sponsored by the Society, Becky dedicated her run to her Grandpa who died from cancer in 1987, by pinning a sign in his memory to her back.
Becky said: “I really enjoyed taking part, it has encouraged me to join the race again next year and hopefully beat this year’s total and time."
