SOCIETY BEDS DOWN IN BROUGHTON ASTLEY
Youngsters at Broughton Astley’s Pre-school Playstation have a new garden to explore thanks to support from Hinckley and Rugby Building Society.
Staff from the Society’s branch in the village spent a cold and soggy Tuesday last week digging and weeding at the Pre-school’s garden.
Somewhat in need of a make-over, the flower beds had become overgrown with weeds and the lawn had made inroads into the planting.
Providing interest throughout the year, the garden was re-planted by Hinckley and Rugby staff with a selection of evergreen plants and an updated herb bed, sponsored by Woodlands Wyevale Garden Centre, Stapleton.
Supporting the staff and parents at the Playstation in providing a restructured garden for the children to play and learn in, the local building society has strong links with the community.
Thrilled with the make over, Playstation Manager Sandra Rushforth said: “The children love to be outside and Hinckley and Rugby Building Society has given us a fresh garden for them to explore.
“We can’t wait to get out to play.”
Broughton Astley Branch Office Manager, Rebecca Davison added: “We’ve all had a great day and hopefully the children will love their new garden.”
Hinckley and Rugby Building Society encourages all staff to take up to three days paid leave a year to volunteer with various local community projects and charities.
