MILESTONE FOR RITA AND MARIE

Long-serving employees are nothing new at Hinckley and Rugby Building Society, but two who joined on the same day and have worked together in the same office ever since, have recently celebrated 10 years of service.

Joining the Society on 22nd March 1999, Customer Assistants Marie Yates and Rita Hawkins originally job shared at the building society’s branch on Blaby Road, South Wigston, where they both now work part time.

Speaking about their time working together Marie said: “Rita and I have seen many changes over the years, not only to the staff we’ve worked with but also the building has altered quite a bit too.

“We’ve supported one another through study for work related qualifications and shared many personal milestones in life together, including both our 40th birthdays.

“Now firm friends, we’ve spent many a pleasant evening in Rita's back garden after a wonderful BBQ.”
