Hinckley & Rugby Building Society has won a national award for its tax-free ISA savings. The Society was named Best Variable Rate ISA Provider in the 2018 Savings Champion Awards.
The Awards recognise building societies and banks that consistently offer best buy rates, provide excellent customer service and promote competition. Hinckley & Rugby was also shortlisted as one of the finalists for the Best Building Society.
Tom Adams, head of research at the independent savings advice site savingschampion.co.uk said: “Hinckley & Rugby Building Society has been a consistent presence at the top of our Variable Rate Cash ISA Best Buy Table during 2017 and still offers the top rate available to all.
“In a savings market largely dominated by the newer so-called challenger banks, it is great to see an established building society offering a consistently high interest rate in this area.
“While a number of building societies serve their existing and local customers only, by offering a postal application channel Hinckley & Rugby has opened it up to all savers – providing a competitive return at a time when it is badly needed.”
Currently the Society is offering a 120-day notice ISA paying 1.20 per cent (variable/gross/AER) and a seven-day notice ISA paying 0.70 per cent (variable/gross/AER). Full details are at: hrbs.co.uk/savings/isa-accounts
Kerry McDonagh, savings manager at Hinckley & Rugby, said:
“The Society always strives to provide its savers with a competitive return and the best kind of traditional service. It’s nice to have that recognised by an independent guide which acts on behalf of savers.”
