Hinckley & Rugby has donated £1,000 to Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People following voting at the Building Society’s Annual General Meeting.
Each Hinckley & Rugby member that cast a vote at the AGM triggered a small donation which added up to a thousand pounds for Rainbows.
Emily Wright, corporate partnerships fundraiser at the Loughborough hospice, brought mascot Dylan the Donkey from Rainbows to pick up a cheque from Hinckley & Rugby customer assistant June Bradford. The AGM voting not only helps to govern the Building Society, which is owned by its members, but also to fund Rainbows’ support for children and their families.
“We’re so grateful to Hinckley & Rugby Building Society for its continued support of us here at Rainbows, and to all of the members for participating and raising this fantastic amount by voting in this year’s AGM.
“We could not continue to provide vital care and support for our children, young people and their families without the support of our local community. So from all of us here, an enormous thank you to everyone involved.”
“We’re always glad to see so many of our savers and borrowers vote in the AGM as it means they are supporting both the mutual nature of the Building Society and the wonderful support and care provided by Rainbows.”
