Supporting our local communities comes naturally to Hinckley & Rugby Building Society.

We introduced our Community First scheme over 18 years ago, giving all staff up to three days’ paid leave per year to help a community organisation of their choosing. This scheme, along with our financial giving, has resulted in us building strong and long-lasting relationships in the areas we serve with community groups, schools and charities who really make a difference to our heartlands.

Like many mutual societies, we receive requests for our support and, of course, we provide our help where we can as those requests arrive. However, over the years, the ethos of sharing has become engrained in our people, which means we have taken our support a step further by actively seeking out projects we feel could benefit by sharing our time, skills and resources.

We cemented that culture in 2012 when we joined local charity Leicestershire Cares, which puts local businesses in touch with community groups in need of help. Since then the Society’s day-to-day giving has really blossomed.

We understand that when it comes to supporting our communities, one size does not fit all. So, whether it’s a monetary donation, delivering financial education to local schools, charity fundraising, sponsorships, our people volunteering their time, or simply enabling you, our members, to support vital causes through our Affinity Savings account, we’re here to offer a helping hand, just as you’ve come to expect.

If you are involved in a local project you think we could support why not get in touch and let us know,  we’d love to hear from you.
