Our sponsorship of locally-based projects enables us to consistently give back to the communities we serve – it’s one of the major factors that make building societies so different to banks. Many of these come about as one-off requests for help but we regularly turn these into long-term relationships.
Our ongoing support of the Concordia Theatre in Hinckley, Leicestershire – a relationship that has lasted not far short of half a century – has helped many local thespians to showcase their talents in the theatre’s twice yearly shows in May and November, continually sponsored by the Society.
We have been avid supporters of the ambitious Hinckley Rugby Club for more than ten years and our involvement in the Lutterworth Santa Fun Run continues – both as sponsors and participants – as it has since its first year. It reached its tenth birthday in December 2018.
Since 2012 we have been sponsoring sessions by WizeUp and have also recently joined partners with Citizens Advice Leicestershire. For more information about these important relationships please see our Financial Education page.
We are involved year after year in Rugby’s prestigious arts event the Festival of Culture but also help countless other smaller organisations, from community radio stations and choirs to bowls clubs and brass bands.
The common link is that we love to assist local people passionate about making a difference to their own communities.
