Hinckley & Rugby nominated for eight awards for volunteering

Hinckley & Rugby Building Society are delighted to have been nominated for ‘Outstanding Contribution’ in seven categories at the annual Leicestershire Cares awards, with an additional three members of staff being nominated individually for the charity’s Education Volunteer of the year category.

Leicestershire Cares provides volunteer opportunities to businesses local to Leicestershire and introduces its member companies to local projects and organisations that are in need of support. Throughout a decade of partnership with the charity, the Society has been involved with many of the organisation’s projects.

The annual awards are a celebration of the efforts made by local businesses in support of the many projects Leicestershire Cares supports and provides volunteering opportunities for. We were thrilled to have been named as Leicestershire Cares’ Company of the Year 2021 and picked up awards for Outstanding Contribution to work with NEET Young People, Outstanding Contribution to Interview Technique, and Education Volunteer of the Year, which was awarded to Evan Crosskey, Mortgage Sales & Distribution Senior Manager.

The Society, who has supported the not-for-profit Leicestershire Cares for ten years, has received nominations in 2022 for the following categories:

  • Work with NEET young people
  • Interview Technique
  • Employability
  • Work with SEND students
  • Bags of hope
  • Holiday Hunger Scheme
  • Company of the year

In addition, three of the Society’s staff have been nominated for Education Volunteer of the year, as a result of their volunteer work for the past year. The nominees are:

  • Carla Loughrey
  • Denise Bradshaw
  • Michelle Tong

Carla Loughrey, Hinckley & Rugby Building Society’s Senior Marketing Executive and one of the nominees for Education Volunteer of the year, said:

“It’s fantastic for the Society to be nominated in so many categories this year – it’s a wonderful thank you to all the staff that volunteer their time to be recognised in this way.

“Leicestershire Cares are a great partner for us, who provide us with so many positive opportunities that help us to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to supporting young and disadvantaged local people.”
