UK Savings Week

UK Savings Week takes place during September each year, aims to raise awareness of the benefits of saving, to get people in the UK to think about savings, and encourage better savings habits.

The Society are a part of the consortium of over 70 organisations behind UK Savings Week and have contributed towards creating a suite of advice, support and resources for you to explore and use.

Education sessions in local schools

Primary and secondary school pupils across Leicestershire & Warwickshire have received lessons in financial education run by Hinckley & Rugby Building Society, as part of its community focused initiative.

The Society is keen to continue sharing knowledge with local young people. Therefore, if you know a school in Leicestershire and Warwickshire that would be interested to speak to the Society about financial education, register your interest below.

Working with WizeUp

WizeUp are a not-for profit organisation delivering tailored education on financial matters to schools and colleges around the country.

Sessions incorporate branch visits where students can practise opening an account and learn about relevant financial decisions that they will be making in the not-too-distant future. Lessons on topics such as budgeting and managing money are thought-provoking and enlightening and receives fantastic feedback from teachers, parents and pupils.

For over 150 years, our branches have been providing people with a safe place for their savings and offering mortgages to enable them to invest those savings in their dream homes.

With online scams increasing year on year, it is key to be able to recognise and prevent fraud, by being vigilant when receiving requests from third parties.
