Struggling to pay

If you’re concerned about money, struggling to make your mortgage payments, or simply want to discuss your options, our dedicated team can help.

Talk to us

If you’ve missed a mortgage payment, or worried you won’t be able to make a payment, it’s important you speak to us as soon as possible.

We understand that some circumstances may lead to difficulty making your mortgage payments. We are committed to supporting our members by providing tailored mortgage support, designed to help you get your mortgage back on track. We will complete a review to help us understand your individual circumstances and offer a personalised mortgage support plan.

The options we may consider include agreeing for you to pay less than your mortgage payment for a short period (resulting in a payment shortfall that will need to be made up later), a temporary switch to interest-only, or an increase of your mortgage term (which will reduce your monthly payment). These options may affect your credit rating and could increase the total amount of interest that you will pay in the longer term.

Free and independent advice

Worried about debts or have missed payments? There are many independent organisations that can help you with your money worries providing free, confidential debt advice services which will help you get back on track.

The government sponsored Money Helper can direct you to a debt adviser straight away by telephone or you can get support online.
