Hinckley & Rugby Building Society has donated £21,000 (£7,000 each) to three local hospices, thanks to holders of its Hospice Affinity Savings Account.
The Society’s Hospice Affinity Account allows members to save their money and donate one per cent of their average balances held each year to the hospices – Leicester based LOROS, Mary Ann Evans Hospice in Nuneaton and The Myton Hospices, based across Warwickshire. Last year, the average one percentage held in the balances equated to £21,000, enabling the Society to give each hospice a donation of £7,000.
Liz Hancock, Chief Executive of Mary Ann Evans Hospice, said:
“On behalf of everyone at the Mary Ann Evans Hospice, I would like to thank Hinckley & Rugby Building Society and their wonderful Affinity Account holders. The financial support that you offer helps us to continue caring for our patients, clients and their families. Thank you for helping us to make a difference to the lives of local people.”
The latest donation takes the total shared by the three hospices to over £186,000 since the account’s launch in 2008.
Colin Fyfe, Chief Executive at Hinckley & Rugby Building Society, said:
“The Society is delighted to continue its support of three very worthy causes. The donations allow the hospices to continue to provide care for their patients and families. We would like to offer our thanks to the holders of our special Affinity Account for their investments as without them, the donation would not be possible.”
Chris Willmott, Corporate Fundraiser at The Myton Hospices, said:
“I would like to say a huge thank you, on behalf of everyone at The Myton Hospices, our patients and their families, for the fabulous donation we receive every year thanks to the Hinckley & Rugby Building Society’s Hospice Affinity Account.
“The care and support this has enabled us to give our patients and their families is remarkable.”
