Recognising those who exemplify the Society’s Values

At our annual staff conference, Society CEO Barry Carter proudly crowned our ‘Value Vanguards’.  A new initiative implemented to recognise and reward members of the team, who exemplify the Society’s core values of Excellence, Expertise, Engage, Efficiency and Ethical!

There were a whopping 50 nominations for the year, all voted for by their fellow colleagues, and there were five winners chosen, so those taking the top spot are some of Hinckley & Rugby’s brightest stars.

With such accolades firmly tucked under their belts, we thought it would be rude to not share a bit more information about our fabulous five and ask them how they feel about being singled out for their efforts. So first up, let us introduce our Operations Manager, Tracey Ingram.

Tracey’s nomination focused on her Engagement with her team. She was praised for her consistent and enthusiastic championing and support for our vital branch network, while being commended for her Expertise, and how she cascades important information to the remote teams ensuring they have the knowledge they need to best serve our members.

Tracey said:

“I was surprised but really touched to be chosen for this award, and it’s made even more special as it’s voted for by my colleagues.

The values are key to the success of our customer-facing team. We have them in mind everyday when engaging with members and colleagues to ensure that provide an excellent customer service experience.”

Next up we move into the wonderful world of mortgages with our Lending Support Officer Lauren Adlam.

Lauren was chosen for her continued demonstration of Excellence, Expertise, and Efficiency, with praise being noted for the high standards of her interactions with both members and brokers, making the experience as smooth and efficient as possible.  Lauren’s impressive knowledge of our policies and procedures was also highlighted by her team.

Lauren said:

“I think it’s important we provide high standards of customer service, to help make the typically stressful process of buying a house as smooth as possible for our members and their brokers.

I feel honoured to be recognised by my peers for the work I do and the support I provide.”

Remaining in the lending side of our business but moving into our Sales Team, who’s day to day sees them speak to countless brokers who are looking to find a safe home for their clients with more complex requirements, we congratulate not one but two winners – Telephone Business Development Manager Sophie Hancock and Business Development Assistant Robin Thiara.

Sophie was commended for embodying Excellence, Expertise and an Ethical approach. Sophie’s continued effort and energy were highlighted as well as her approach to serving the needs of all customers, with special mention being made to her work in helping to create an inclusive solution for skilled foreign workers living in the UK.

Sophie said:

“I am so proud of our Visa product and how it’s helping so many people achieve their dreams of getting on the property ladder.  It’s great to work somewhere innovation is recognised and encouraged!”

Robin received his award for his relentless enthusiasm for delivering an Efficient service to all brokers, his proactive and motivated approach to self-development while striving for Excellence, and Engaging with all colleagues with continued positivity.

Robin said:

“This is my first role in the financial sector, and I am really enjoying getting stuck in and learning all there is to know about mortgages so I can develop my knowledge and skills. I was delighted to receive this recognition, it means a lot.”

And last, but by no means least, we move into our IT team and applaud our Systems Specialist Vicky Bright who was chosen for her support and championing of our branch teams and her Expertise when delivering vital information, while acting as a great role model for her colleagues.

Vicky said:

“It’s great my work is being acknowledged. I am motivated to continue finding ways to improve our processes, it’s important we to continue to develop in an ever-changing industry.”

So, there you have it, our wonderful winners. A selection of our team that help make the Society the great place it is, helping us to continue delivering first class services to our members, while supporting their colleagues and striving for continued improvements, pretty impressive we hope you agree!? Many congratulations to all for their dedication and hard work.
