Work experience really adds up for accounting Student Monica

The Society’s Finance team have had an extra pair of hands to help crunch the numbers in recent weeks in the form of a very bright and ambitious accounting student, Monica Thiara, from The University of Leicester.

Organised via our good friends at Leicestershire Cares, Monica joined the team for three weeks and has made a very positive impression.

Our Finance Manager, Sue, said:

“It’s been an absolute pleasure to have Monica join us. She got stuck into the work straight away and got to know everyone in the Finance team. We’ve shown her the wide range of work we do here and shared our experiences and varied career paths that have led each of us to HRBS. We’ve really enjoyed getting to know Monica and wish her all the best with her final year at university and beyond.”

Monica, who has also carried out work experience with accounting firm giants PWC earlier this summer, reflected on her time with the Society:

“This opportunity has been a really valuable experience. I’ve had good exposure to the society’s finance team and I’m very grateful for everyone’s involvement in welcoming me.

It’s been great finding out how the Society operates, being part of the people culture, and giving a little hand wherever I could. My time at Hinckley & Rugby has been very enjoyable and I will be taking a lot of things learnt here with me for my professional career.”
