ISAs
Individual Savings Accounts (ISAs) were introduced by the government in April 1999. All income (interest) from ISA savings is tax free. You can find out more about ISAs and the current allowances at gov.uk.
There are different types of ISA for different types of investor. Hinckley & Rugby only offers Cash ISAs (the normal type for general savers).
ISA saving limits
During the tax year (6 April to 5 April the following year) you can add up to £20,000 in total across all the ISAs you hold. This limit is for ‘new’ money – if you directly transfer money from one ISA to another (with the same or a different provider), that is treated as ‘old’ money and does not affect your limit.
